LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 14, 2016) — Job postings for lightweighting-related occupations in Kentucky were up 43 percent—2,963 more postings—in November and December 2015, over the same months in 2014, according to a market report from LIFT (Lightweight Innovations for Tomorrow) and WIN (Workforce Intelligence Network).
Of the more than 5,000 postings, 35 percent offered salaries above $50,000, compared to 30 percent in November and December 2014.
Kentucky’s lightweighting jobs requiring a bachelor’s degree or higher remained close to 40 percent.
“We’re seeing 2015 as a record year for employer demand and as a result more employment in advanced manufacturing,” said Emily Stover DeRocco, education and workforce director of LIFT. “Kentucky companies are hiring. Continued collaboration with our partners, from industry leaders to educators, will ensure that Kentucky’s workforce has trained individuals with skills necessary for today’s manufacturers.”
