2016 Kyndle Agriculture Appreciation Breakfast

The winners of the Agriculturalist of the Year and Lifetime Achievement in Agriculture will be announced at Kyndle’s 2016 Agriculture Awards Breakfast, set for 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 10 at the Henderson Fine Arts Center.

The event's featured speaker will be Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles. Quarles grew up on his family's farm in Scott County, Ky. In 2009 he graduated from Harvard with a Master’s degree in higher education before moving back to Kentucky to finish his last year of law school. Ryan was elected to the Kentucky General Assembly in 2010. Ryan served as vice-chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and served on the Agriculture and Small Business Committee, the Tobacco Master Settlement Oversight Committee, and the Banking and Insurance Committee. In 2015, Ryan was elected Kentucky’s Commissioner of Agriculture.

The cost to attend the event is just 88 cents, symbolic of the small profit a farmer would make on the food on a typical breakfast plate. Sam Ball will emcee the popular breakfast. Golden Corral will cater the meal.
