When you talking about developing a brand for something, there are two things you expect to come out of it: a logo and a slogan.
And indeed, the community branding initiative being pursued by the Henderson County Tourist Commission for Henderson could produce each of those.
But its branding consultant says that isn't the end goal.
In fact, Steve Chandler of ChandlerThinks in Nashville said, "We will not do an unveiling" of such materials, because they aren't the most important thing.
"I'd be surprised if three people in this room know Evansville's logo or their tag line," told a Coffee with Kyndle breakfast audience Thursday morning.
Rather, the veteran destination and hospitality brand consultant said this process is about helping Henderson — its businesses, local government, Kyndle and the tourism office, civic organizations and citizens — understand itself.
